The Office of International Development is seeking households in the Bloomington community that are interested in hosting 1-2 international visitors from Youth Leadership Programs sponsored by the US Department of State. This is a unique opportunity to engage with energetic young people that are poised to make great impacts in their country. The upcoming hosting opportunity is the On-Demand Youth Leadership Program with Indonesia (August 12th-26th, 2017).

Host FamilyGuests primarily range in age from 15-18 years old, with 2-3 adult chaperones accompanying the group. During weekdays, participants spend 9am-5pm engaged in program activities. Host families are responsible for providing transportation to campus before 9am and picking guests up after 5pm. Lunch is provided by the program on weekdays and host families are asked to provide all other meals. It’s understood that households often have other commitments and complications in schedules arise. Arrangements can be made to accommodate any special needs (i.e. alternate transportation, supplemental housing/programming, etc.)

Host FamilyNo single type of household is required in order to participate; anyone with an interest to care for and get to know these guests is encouraged to apply or contact either Courtney Huynh (Hermann) at (cmherman@indiana.edu, 812.855.0775) or Tessa McConnell at tesmccon@umail.iu.edu.
