General Description:
The incumbent will provide technical product information in response to inquiries from Alcon's customer base and internal departments. They will also provide critical support to Customer Service as the liaison for technical inquiries. They are expected to supply technical input and support as required for department initiatives. This position is primarily responsible for handling and resolution of surgical product inquiries and IOL calculations from domestic and international customers as well as Alcon internal customers. Independent judgment and discretion is required for interaction (verbal and/or written) with a variety of external health care personnel, in particular, surgeons, ophthalmologists, optometrists, surgical office staff, surgical technicians and/or Alcon personnel responsible for interacting with surgeons and surgical equipment (surgical sales representatives, surgical training or marketing personnel) to identify and provide appropriate information. Experience with IOL calculations and cataract / refractive surgery and an understanding of optics is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* COT, COMT, RN with refractive and IOL calculation experience
* Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) or M.D. with experience ophthalmic/optometric field, medical information area or customer service
* Knowledge of Alcon surgical products is required
