Viewing Your Student's Information Online

IU Bloomington students have the ability to authorize another person, such as a parent or guardian, to view specific types of personal information in the Student Information System (SIS) through OneStart. Individuals granted third party access will have the ability to view financial aid award and summary information, descriptions of holds on records, grades, unofficial transcripts, class and final exam schedules, and bursar account information.

To set up view access for parents, students should log into http://onestart.iu.edu using their username and passphrase, click the "Services" tab, "Student Self Services" link, and in the IU Accounts area of the Services and Information section use the "Assign Access to Third Parties Access" link. Students must create a unique username and password for each user receiving third party access.

To access the student's information, the parent/guardian with access should click the "Public Services" tab at OneStart, and select the "Authorized 3rd Party Access" link under "Parent/Guardian Access to Student Information" using their University ID number, assigned username, and password.

Students may revoke authorization at any time by removing permission from a third party viewer OneStart.

Detailed instructions regarding this service are available through the University Information Technology Services Knowledge Base at: http://kb.iu.edu/data/auoz.html.
