- What forms of financial assistance are available?
You may qualify for scholarships, grants, loans or a work-study program job. In addition, many students
find part-time employment while at Bloomington. There are two primary ways that students can receive
financial assistance at IU: merit scholarships and need-based financial aid. Incoming freshmen will be
considered for the vast number of merit scholarships based on their application for admission.

- What do I have to do to apply for financial aid?
Applying for financial aid is a simple matter of getting the right application to the right place at the
right time. At IU, the only form you need to complete for initial consideration for financial aid is the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to submit your FAFSA before the March 1 priority
date to be considered for the maximum amount of financial aid. Check out the
