The earliest "Oldowan technology" archaeological sites in Africa sample a period of proto-human behavior so remote in time that it is often difficult to interpret. Describe the different types of scientific methods and approaches that archaeologists are taking to decide whether these early sites were places where early hominids camped and shared food, like modern human foragers do, or whether the formation of these sites can be explained in some other way. Compare specific examples from several different sites, and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the different approaches/methods (e.g. what are the limitations of each method?)
We expect you to practice good scholarship! Be sure to cite the sources of the ideas in your paper, using a standard citation style (Rathje and Murphy 1992), put everything in your own words, and include a list of references at the end of your paper.
