MGIU 2011, "War Can Be Such A Drag."

:::There will be TWO MGIU shows this year. On April 28th, OUT will host MGIU "Legacy" 2011. This show is designed to celebrate two exciting decades of Miss Gay IU. In late September, OUT plans on hosting the 2011 MGIU Pageant:::

Following the historically significant repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," OUT thought what better way to celebrate than with America's largest collegiate drag show! This is Miss Gay Indiana Univeristy's 21st year, and despite all the drama that surrounds the show, we're all ready for a FABULOUS night on April 28. As a matter of fact, we're going to take all that drama (and we really do love drama), and give you the most dramatic MGIU event ever! Boys,try to keep your flag poles in your pants, and girls your bombs in your shirt, because this night is going to be explosively HOT!

About MGIU

The Miss Gay Indiana University pageant has been a tradition in Bloomington for over two decades.  Miss Gay IU is one of the nation’s largest and most attended drag pageants for female impersonators.  Held on the Indiana University campus, Miss Gay IU avwerages around 1000 attendees annually from Bloomington and the surrounding area.  Contestants from around the state of Indiana compete for the MGIU crown by presenting themselves in personal interview, evening gown, talent production, and onstage question and answer.  Miss Gay IU is a night of entertainment for students, faculty, staff, or anyone else who comes with an open mind. Additionally Miss Gay IU has been an opportunity for returning alumni to have something to look forward to gathering together for every year.  Showing support for the Miss Gay IU pageant and OUT GLBTQA Student Alliance reflects on our community - one of acceptance, tolerance and understanding.  Our goal is to promote diversity and celebrate our uniqueness.   Miss Gay IU formers can be seen throughout the year speaking on panels and performing across the state of Indiana.
