Adventure Education and Outdoor Leadership

Welcome to the Institute for Outdoor Leadership & Education (IOLE)! The Institute serves as a repository for information about academic and programmatic endeavors in the fields of outdoor/ adventure education and recreation, and therapeutic outdoor programs.  The Institute was created by the graduate students, staff, and faculty in the Department of Recreation and Park Administration, in the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Indiana UniversityBloomington.

The Institute is also home to the Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (C.O.R.E.) program, a semester-long curriculum emphasizing leadership, instructorship, and environmental stewardship and the Therapeutic Outdoor Programs (T.O.P.), a 15-credit hour graduate certificate offered through the Department of Recreation and Park Administration.
