IUB student awarded Boren Scholarship

IUB student Conner Clark, a senior majoring in Economics and International Studies with minors in Political Science and Russian and East European Studies, has been awarded a 2015-16 National Security Education Program (NSEP) Boren Scholarship for study abroad. Conner previously studied in Russia for a semester and will be pursuing a Russian language program in Belarus.

Ayesha Syed, an IUB senior majoring in Economics and International Studies, was selected as a 2015-16 Boren Scholarship alternate for Arabic language study in Morocco. Ayesha previously studied abroad for a semester in Turkey.

The Boren Scholarships offer unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to add an important international and language component to their educations. They focus on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad. Boren Scholarships provide funding of up to $10,000 for a semester and $20,000 for an academic year abroad.
