Scholarship Applications
Overseas Study Scholarships
Scholarships are available for qualified IU students making normal progress toward their
first undergraduate degree and going on select IU Overseas Study programs. There are four types of scholarships.
See below for eligibility and scholarship amounts.
Remember, you MUST apply for a scholarship by your program's deadline.
Scholarship applications submitted after the deadline will NOT be considered.
Scholarships for IUPUI and other IU campus students
- $500-750 for select summer
programs ($250 for 3-credit programs)
- $750-1000 for IU-administered semester programs
- $1,000 to $3,000 for IU-administered academic year programs
- Based on financial need and academic performance
Applicant must be currently enrolled in classes and the credits earned abroad must be
relevant to your degree requirements. Summer and semester scholarships can be received only once.

Minority Scholarships
- $300-$3,000, depending on program length, for select programs
- Available for under-represented U.S. racial/ethnic minority students (must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident)
- Based on financial need and academic performance
Internship Incentive Grants
- $2,500 for select programs
- Available to select programs in non-traditional destinations
- Based on financial need and academic performance
Summer Program Scholarships
Aranjuez, Cuernavaca, Dakar, Dominican Republic-CIC, Graz, Guanajuato, Quebec
and Salamanca
- Overseas Study and department-based scholarships of approximately $500-750
- Awarded to students from any IU campus
- Based on financial need and academic performance.
Summer scholarships can be received only once.
Academic Year and Semester Program Scholarships
Aix-en-Provence, Bologna, Canterbury, Freiburg, Legon, Lima, Madrid, Nagoya, Vienna (music students only)
- Overseas Study and department-based scholarships of $750-$3,000
- Awarded to students from any IU campus
- Based on financial need and academic performance
Academic year and semester program scholarships can be received only once.
TO APPLY:
1. Bring the following documentation of your financial aid from OneStart to the Office of Overseas Study in Franklin Hall 303:

Financial Aid Award Summary: After logging into OneStart, select the Self-Service tab.
Scroll down to the Finances Section. Click on "View Financial Aid". Then select the most current
year, for example "2009". This will open the Financial Aid Award Summary which lists the
financial aid awards you receive and their amount. Print the Financial Aid Award Summary.
- Financial Aid Need Summary (follow the instructions to open the Financial Aid Award Summary):
From the Financial Aid Award Summary, click on the link for "Financial Aid Need Summary" located under
the Academic Year Totals. This will open the Financial Aid Need Summary which lists your
estimated financial aid budget, family contribution, and need. Print the Financial Aid Need Summary.
2. Submit an online Overseas Study Scholarship Application by the deadline of your program.
Kelley School of Business Overseas Study Scholarships
Anyone participating on an IU-administered or co-sponsored program for business credit may apply. Click here for a list of eligible programs.
Semester programs: $1,000-1,500
Summer programs: $500-750

TO APPLY:

2. Submit an online KSB Overseas Study Scholarship Application by the deadline of your program.
Hutton Honors College IEP Grants
Any IUB student with a 3.4 GPA overall or 3.7 GPA in major is eligible to apply
for Edward L. Hutton International Experiences Program grants. Preference is
given to Hutton Honors College students and Hudson and Holland Scholars.
Awards are merit based and amounts are determined based on both the duration
and destination of travel. Every applicant will be required to submit with
his/her application a short essay describing his/her proposed international
experience and the reason for travel abroad.
Note: Students who have major IU scholarships that include support for an overseas study experience (Wells and Kelley Scholars for instance) are not eligible for IEP awards.

Submit an online Application for Hutton Honors College Edward L. Hutton IEP Grant
Deadlines: Summer Grants - last Friday before Spring Break;
Fall and Full Year Grants - Friday after Spring Break; Spring Grants - Last Friday in October.
