Unless a website is noted, applications for these competitive scholarships are available in the Office of Overseas Study.

  • The Boren Awards for study in nontraditional destinations. Students must demonstrate an interest in national security and language study. Contact Katie Saur for the internal IUB application date.
  • Butler University IFSA Scholarships for students studying on Butler programs outside of Australia ($1,000). Contact Rachelle Bennett for IUB application date.
  • CIEE Bowman Travel Grants for study on CIEE programs in non-traditional destinations.
  • CIEE Scholarships based on financial need and merit for study on a CIEE program.
  • Freeman-Asia Scholarships of $3,000 to $7,000 to support study abroad in Asia; applications through the Institute of International Education (IIE).
  • Gilman scholarships for students who demonstrate financial need.
  • IES Abroad need-based, merit-based, diversity scholarships, legacy scholarships and disability grants available for study on an IES program.
  • Loyola University’s John Felice Rome Center offers a partial fee reduction scholarship to IU participants. Contact Rachelle Bennett for specific details.
