PROGRAM ORGANIZATION
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
- IES "Irish General Studies" program*
- Orientation with introduction to Irish language and culture
- 20-25 IES courses in humanities and social sciences taught by Irish professors for U.S. students
- Unpaid internships in arts, business, journalism, politics and social service
- IES "Peace & Conflict Studies" program* (15 credit block studying the
political, historical, social and cultural implications of Northern Ireland
conflict)

COURSE LOAD
- Program requires enrollment in IES Center courses with option for a 3-credit internship.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY
You may apply if you
- are a student at any Indiana University campus who is making
normal academic progress,
- are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college,
- are academically prepared for courses available on this program (primarily 300-level social sciences and humanities courses), and
- have approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures
of the Office of Overseas Study.
Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose,
and appropriateness of match between program and applicant.
Students on disciplinary probation during program period are not eligible.
ESTIMATED FALL 2008 COSTS
- Fee paid to IU: $650
- Fee paid to IES by IU students: $15,495*
(includes tuition, housing, health insurance, orientation)
- Meals purchased in Dublin $2,050
Initial prepayment of $500 due
Nov. 3 for spring; Mar. for fall.

*Special Discounted IES fee for IU students
