CIC London Internship Semester
LONDON
- Britain's political, literary and intellectual capital
- International financial and cultural center

DATES

PROGRAM ORGANIZATION
- Arcadia University's College of Global Studies www.arcadia.edu/abroad
- 40-50 U.S. students, including students from other CIC (Big Ten) institutions
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
- 4-credit Internship placement 3 days per week in London's commercial, healthcare, media, or government industries,
which requires an independent academic research project
(FRST-F 400 or BUS-X 480)
- 4-credit core course, "Working in the UK and EU: the politics, sociology, and public policy of the professions" (POLS-Y 407, SOC-S 360,
or GSL field specilization)
- 6-8 credits in 2-3 courses selected from
- extensive course offerings of City University, with British students
- London Now courses, at the Arcadia Center with other Americans, and/or
- London College of Fashion courses offered in conjunction with London Now
COURSE LOAD
- 14-16 IU credits in fall; 16 IU credits in spring (4 courses)
HOUSING
- One of thee residences in central London with other American students.
- All current Arcadia University accommodation in London is equipped with
high-speed Internet access through either a standard Ethernet network or a wireless network.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY
You may apply if you
- are a student at any Indiana University campus who is making
normal academic progress,
- are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college, and
- have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures
of the Office of Overseas Study.
Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose,
and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are not eligible.
You must have completed at least three courses in the area that relates to your internship before
arrival in London. Prior work/volunteer experience in the area is also a plus. Finance, investment,
and banking placements require a 3.5 GPA and relevant work experience.
*Business majors must have completed (or will complete) E201, E202 and the Business Integrative Core
(or equivalent coursework at an IU campus outside Bloomington).
*Liberal Arts and Management Program (LAMP) students must have completed BUS K201, ECON E201 and E202
ESTIMATED SPRING 2010 COSTS
- Fee paid to IU: $200
- Fee paid to Arcadia by IU students: $14,890*
(includes academic fees, housing, orientation, health insurance)
- Meals purchased in London: $2,015

Initial prepayment of $500 due to Arcadia University upon acceptance.
Airfare, personal expenses, and vacation travel additional.
