PROGRAM ORGANIZATION
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
- IES "French Studies" program* at the IES Center in Montparnasse on the Left Bank
- Orientation program on-site
- 20 courses in French language, art history,
literature, history and political science taught in French
for IES students only
- French university courses with French students
- Unpaid internships in business, non-profit organizations, publishing and media

COURSE LOAD
- Program requires enrollment in French language course and a combination
of IES center courses AND either a university course or internship.
- 15
IU credits in combination of 4 IES courses and a 3-credit internship
OR
- 15 IU credits in combination of 4 IES courses and a 3-credit French university course
HOUSING
- French home with another IES student
- Limited number of single or double occupancy apartments in a private building
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY
You may apply if you
- are a student at any Indiana University campus who is making
normal academic progress,
- are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college,
- are in fourth-semester French (for fall), fifth
semester (for spring), and
- have approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures
of the Office of Overseas Study.
Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose,
and appropriateness of match between program and applicant.
Students on disciplinary probation during program period are ineligible.
ESTIMATED FALL 2008 COSTS
- Fee paid to IU: $650
- Fee paid to IES* $15,470
(includes tuition, health insurance, housing, breakfast, 2 evening meals
per week, orientation)
- Additional meals $1,800-$2,600
Initial prepayment of $500 due Nov. 3
for spring; Mar.
for fall.

* Special Discounted IES fee for IU students.
