ACADEMIC PROGRAM
- 6 IU credits for 2 courses:
Students with 2 or 3 semesters of French:
- French language course (FRIT F200 or F250) and
- Paris in Cultural Context (FRIT F296)
Students with 4 or more semesters of French:
- French language course (FRIT 315 or F316) and
- One of the following: (3 credits each)
- Impressionism and Post Impressionism (FINA A396) AH
- History of Paris (FRIT F362* AH or HIST B300 SH)
- Paris in 19th- and 20th-century French Literature (FRIT F375*) AH
- Contemporary France (FRIT F363*) AH
* COAS culture studies, List B
HOUSING
- French home with another U.S. student, some meals
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY
You may apply if you
- are a degree candidate at any Indiana University campus who is making
normal academic progress,
- have completed or are enrolled at least first year French by the end of this spring,
- have at least a B average in French, and
- have
approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures
of the Office of Overseas Study.
Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose,
and appropriateness of match between program and applicant.
Students on disciplinary probation during the program period are not eligible.
ESTIMATED 2008 COSTS
- Fee paid to IU: $370
- Fees paid to IES: $6,100 (tuition, housing, some meals, field trips, and
health insurance)
Initial prepayment of $500 due March 3.
- Additional meals $800
- Airfare $1,100
Personal expenses and vacation travel additional
FINANCIAL AID
- IU scholarships, grants and loans applicable to
program costs with some
exceptions.
