- IES Salamanca program Web site
- Center located just steps fro mthe Plaza Mayor and a 5-minute walk from the historic campus of the University of Salamanca

ACADEMIC PROGRAM
- IES program*
- Orientation and conversational Spanish
- 15 courses in language, humanities, and social sciences taught in Spanish for IES students only
- University of Salamanca course with Spanish students (spring only)

COURSE LOAD
- Fall program requires enrollment in Spanish language course and IES center
courses
- 16 IU credits
- 4 credit language course
- 12 credits in IES courses
- Spring program requires enrollment in Spanish language course and a
combination of IES center courses AND either a university course or internship
- 16 IU credits
in combination of 4 IES courses and a 3-credit internship
OR
- 16 IU credits in combination of 4 IES courses and a 3-credit University of Salamanca course
HOUSING
- Rooms in Spanish homes or student apartments
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY
You may apply if you
- are a student at any Indiana University campus who is
making normal academic progress,
- are in at least your fourth full-time semester of college,
- have taken or are enrolled in at least fourth semester Spanish (for fall program), fifth semester (for spring program), and
- have attained at least a B average in Spanish, and
- have
approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures
of the Office of Overseas Study.
Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose,
and appropriateness of match between program and applicant.
Students on disciplinary probation during program period are not eligible.
ESTIMATED FALL 2008 COSTS

- Fee paid to IU: $650
- Fee paid to IES: $12,700*
(tuition, health insurance, room, some meals)
- Other meals: $400
Initial prepayment of $500 due Nov. 3 for spring; Mar. for fall.

Airfare, personal expenses and vacation travel additional.
*Special Discounted IES fee for IU students

exceptions. Please carefully check
