ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Business and Culture program track*
Take business courses with Brazilian and international students, taught in English, at the Facultad Getúlia Vargas
Gain firsthand knowledge about business in Brazil through company visits
Develop competency in Portuguese through Portuguese for business courses at your level
Optional Intensive Portuguese pre-session for students with 4 semesters of Spanish or 2 semesters of Portuguese (supplemental fee applies)

COURSE LOAD

15 IU credit hours
- Required Portuguese language course (3 credits)
- Required Brazilian Economy course in English (2 credits)
- Required Politics and Culture in Brazil course in English (2 credits)
- Select 4 additional FGV business courses in English (8 credits)

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY

You may apply if you

are a student at any Indiana University campus who is making normal academic progress,
are in at least your third full-time semester of college,
have approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and
are a business major or minor or LAMP student.

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of the Office of Overseas Study. Selection is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program period are not eligible.
Business majors must have completed (or will complete) E201, E202 and the Business Integrative Core (or equivalent coursework at an IU campus outside Bloomington) and have a 3.0 GPA.
Liberal Arts and Management Program (LAMP) students must have completed BUS K201 and ECON E201 and E202.

ESTIMATED FALL 2009 COSTS

IU portion of fee: $650
CIEE portion of fee*: $14,345
(includes tuition, room, board, orientation, medical insurance, field trips)
Initial prepayment of $500 due April 6 for fall; October for spring.
