- Business, Language and Culture Program track*

courses taught in English at the CIEE Study Center at East China Normal
University
- Gain firsthand
knowledge about business in China through excursions and company visits
- Develop competency in Mandarin through beginning to advanced level
courses, peer tutoring, and language clinics
Unpaid internships available for students who have completed at least two semesters of Mandarin
Satisfies International Dimension Requirement.
This program does not include a language intensive component; IU students will be awarded undistributed credit for the language course(s) and would need to take an IU placement exam upon completion of the program in order to determine the next appropriate language course at IU.

ELIGIBILITY
You may apply if you
- are a student at any Indiana
University campus who is making normal academic progress,
- are in at least your third full-time semester of college,
- are not a citizen of the PRC, Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macau,*
- are a business
major or minor or a LAMP student, and
- have
approximately a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
*China Normal University, the local host institution, will not accept students who are citizens of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Taiwan ROC, Hong Kong SAR, or Macau. This includes those who are permanent U.S. residents. Students of Chinese ancestry who hold U.S. passports are welcome to apply.
Complete
eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the
Academic Policies and Procedures of the Office of Overseas Study. Selection
is based on maturity, seriousness of purpose, and appropriateness of match
between program and applicant. Students on disciplinary probation during program
period are not eligible.
Business majors must have completed (or will complete) E201,
E202 and the Business Integrative Core (or equivalent coursework at an IU campus
outside Bloomington) and have a 3.0 GPA.
Liberal Arts and Management Program (LAMP) students must have
completed BUS K201 and ECON E201 and E202.
ESTIMATED FALL 2010 COSTS
- IU portion of fee: $640
- CIEE portion of fee: $12,350 (includes tuition, room, board, orientation, medical insurance, field trips)
Initial prepayment of $500 due April 5 for fall; Oct. for spring
