Overseas Study Recommendation Instructions Faculty
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Notice
Under federal law a student is entitled to read a letter of recommendation unless s/he signs a waiver giving
up that access. If you prefer that the student not have access to your letter, do not submit it electronically.
Instead submit a paper version of the recommendation form that has the waiver statement signed by the
student.

Recommendations are due by the specific program's application deadline (www.indiana.edu/~overseas/applications/deadlines.shtml). Guidelines for writing overseas study recommendations are available at www.indiana.edu/~overseas/forms/guidelines.shtml.
