Following the San Diego conference, we wrote to Bill Barnhart, asking the Board of Directors to consider enlarging the Diversity Committee and have it meet more than once a year. We further encouraged them to include evidence of non-discriminatory prac tice provided by conference sites in conference materials. The SIG sent another letter requesting that the Board set a timely schedule for the proposed sites to be sent to the Diversity Committee and for the Diversity Committee to contact all SIGs about s ite proposals. The Board of Directors assigned a Board-appointed liaison, June Noronha (NAFSA President Elect), to the SIG to improve communication.
