Office of Overseas Study Statement

Unrest in France

The Office of Overseas Study regularly monitors information relevant to the safety of IU students abroad from official sources and from our international partners and colleagues. We take all reasonable and feasible precautions so that students on our programs have a safe experience. We have emergency plans in place for responding to any crises which might arise.

We are following very closely the developments of the recent outbreak of violence in France. On November y, The Department of State issued a Public Announcement which we have shared with all IU students in France. The on-site staff for IU's administered and co-sponsored programs in Aix, Paris (IES), Rennes (CIEE) and Rouen have been in direct touch with us to let us know that our students are fine and are being carefully advised about appropriate safety precautions during this period of unrest.

We will update this site as more information becomes available.
