IU student awarded Gilman Scholarship

Sharday Summers, an Indiana University
junior from the Bloomington campus, was recently awarded Benjamin A. Gilman
International Scholarships to pursue studies overseas. Summers, a
psychology major who will be studying in London, Great Britain, received an
award of $3,500. For the spring semester application cycle, the Gilman scholarship program received
1,465 applications and awarded
600 scholarships.
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program is sponsored by the
U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and
administered by the Institute of International Education. Online applications
are available for the Fall 2009/Academic year 2008-2009 cycle of the Gilman scholarship, and the deadline is April
