IU student named Gilman Scholar
December 1, 2005Ebony Jordan, an Indiana University senior from the
Bloomington campus, received a $3,500 award from the Benjamin A. Gilman
International Scholarship program to pursue studies overseas. Ebony, with majors
in both Biology and Spanish, will be studying in the Dominican
Republic.
For the spring semester, the Gilman scholarship program received 940 applications and awarded
273 scholarships.
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program is sponsored by the
U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and
administered by the Institute of International Education. Online applications
are available for the fall 2006/academic year 2006-2007 cycle of the Gilman scholarship, and the deadline is April
