Office of Overseas Study Statement
Tsunami and IU Student Safety Abroad
The Office of Overseas Study offers our sympathy to those impacted by the recent tragedy that resulted from the tsunami on December 26, 2004. Few IU students study in the parts of the world hit by the tsunami and those who were in Asia and Africa at the time were far from the areas directly affected by the disaster.
Overseas Study programs will proceed as usual this spring as we continue to monitor the world situation.
For information about Indiana University's response to the disaster see: Indian Ocean Tsunami Disaster Web Site
I invite anyone with questions regarding IU safety and security policies abroad to contact me.
