Office of Overseas Study Statement

IU Programs in Kenya

Due to the current ongoing violence in Kenya, Indiana University officials have decided to suspend overseas study programs in Kenya.  Students accepted to student teach in Kenya as part of the School of Education’s Cultural Immersion Program starting this March will be offered placements in other locations. The Indiana University School of Medicine will not be sending students or medical residents to its project at Moi University during the months of January and February, 2008.  The decision about when to send students to Kenya again will be made by IU’s Committee on Safety and Responsibility, a subcommittee of the Overseas Study Advisory Council, as per IU policy: www.indiana.edu/~overseas/policies/warnings.shtml.
