The Office of Overseas Study at Indiana University endorses the following semester and academic year programs based on the reputation of the organizing agencies or institutions, the perceived quality of the programs and their high academic standards which are all in consonance with IU’s administered and co-sponsored programs. The programs listed below require minimum GPAs of 2.75 or higher, most 3.0 or higher. IU students have participated in these programs with positive results.

Those interested in these options should follow the general procedures for participation in non-IU programs, that is, processing credit through the Office of International Admissions and submitting applications directly to the provider or institution listed.

NOTES: Any time a travel warning is issued by the U.S. Department of State, IU will not approve or support participation in a program in that country. That is, you may not retain your IU status or apply your financial aid to the costs of the program.

“Mainstreamed courses” or “mainstreaming” refers to taking courses with host national students in the university abroad and possibly living with host national students in university housing.
