Yvette Alex-Assensoh
Dean Yvette M. Alex-Assensoh, by training and profession, is a political scientist and an attorney. She conducts research and teaches in the area of American politics. In law, she specializes in family law and mediation. Her research focuses primarily on civic engagement among marginalized groups, including women and racial minorities. A native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Dean Alex-Assensoh has served as a Fulbright scholar at University of Zagreb, Croatia. Also, she is the author/co-author of four books and several published scholarly essays and book chapters. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Ford Foundation, the Spencer Foundation and the National Academy of Education (NAE). She and her husband are the proud parents of two sons: 13-year-old Kwadwo and 11-year-old Livingston. They live in Bloomington, where they have in their home "Puff", their miniature poodle. |
