  • RAISE - Raising Awareness of Interactions in Sexual Encounters

    RAISE is a group of volunteer peer-educators who go into the classroom and into the community to educate on issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, and gendered communication . To volunteer or to schedule a program, contact OWA or e-mail: raise@indiana.edu.


  • CPS - Commission on Personal Safety

    Created in 1987, the Commission on Personal Safety addresses issues that have a direct bearing on the personal safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Bloomington campus. It accomplishes its work through subcommittees on communication and policy, education, facilities and services, and bicycle safety. The dean for women's affairs serves as co-chair with the dean of students. For more information, e-mail: cps@indiana.edu


  • WIS - Women in Science
    The Women in Science Program develops and implements programs that promote the participation of women in the science and mathematics fields at the undergraduate, graduate and faculty levels. WISP sponsors the visits of distinguished women scientists, instructional development grants, mentoring and student support groups, and a student research day. The project’s long-range goal is to create a positive learning and working environment in which women in science and mathematics can thrive and succeed.   • Sarah Parke Morrison Scholarship
    Undergraduate women who are enrolled as full-time students, have financial need and are first-generation college students, meaning that neither parent graduated from a college or university, are eligible for the scholarship. The Sarah Parke Morrison Scholarship ranges between $500 and $1,000.
  • An application form accompanied by one letter of recommendation from an IUB professor or advisor, an official IU transcript (one from One Start will be accepted), and an explanation of financial need are required. The scholarship deadline is January 21, 2008 and applications will be available online and at the Office for Women's Affairs (located in Memorial Hall E120).

  • Support for Staff Women
    As part of our programming for staff women OWA offers a lunch time brown bag series, an annual spring conference, and an annual staff award. A staff advisory committee works with the Dean on programming and addressing issues of concern to women staff on the IUB campus. These activities and others are designed to enhance women’s experience working at IUB. Check the events calendar for upcoming events.
