Caty Pilachowski
Dean for
Women's Affairs Daniel Kirkwood Chair Caty Pilachowski received a B.S. in Physics from Harvey Mudd College in California, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Hawaii. She joined the Astronomy Department at Indiana University in 2001 after more than 20 years on the scientific staff of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory in Tucson. Her service on the IU campus includes membership on the Graduate School Council, the Committee on Undergraduate Education of the College of Arts and Sciences, and the campus General Education Committee. She has been active in the Gamma of Indiana chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, serving as President during the 2005-6 academic year. In the Office for Women's Affairs, she has served on the Faculty Advisory Board and on the Women in Science Advisory Board. a Masters of Social Work from Indiana University. She brings to her programming
responsibilities at the Office for Women's Affairs many years of experience
in advocacy for women, program development and presentation and counseling.
Linda McCammon, Linda brings several years of IU experience to OWA from the Department
of English and the Honors College. Born and raised in Monroe County, she
is a committed seamstress and a cross-stitch enthusiast. Kristen Jozkowski Kristen is a graduate student in the Department of Applied Health Science interested in pursuing her PhD in Health Behavior with a focus in Sexuality and Sexual Health. She is the current RAISE (Raising Awareness of Interactions in Sexual Encounters) Coordinator and is very passionate about sexual assault issues. Kristen is also a health educator at the IU Health Center and does outreach education in various health fields including sexual health and massage for stress management. As an undergrad at Penn State University, Kristen was involved in Peer Sexual Health Education and various research projects including her own behavior management support group focusing on weight loss and making healthier lifestyle choices. Her current research interests include sexual health, sexual dysfunctions and sexual communication. Stacy Konkiel Stacy works as Coordinator for the Commission on Personal Safety and is also responsible for fulfilling research needs, Women's History Month programming and education, and various other tasks. Having graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in English in 2006, she is a second-year dual masters degree candidate in the Library Science and Information Science programs here at Indiana University. Her ultimate goal is to work as a subject librarian in academia, specializing in gender, sexuality, or queer studies.
Brooke Treadwell Brooke works to support women faculty and students in Science, Mathematics and Technology through organizing community outreach, academic and social events. Brooke is also a Ph.D. candidate in Education Policy Studies with a minor in Non-Profit Management. Prior to joining the OWA Brooke worked with Burmese refugees in Thailand as a Program Officer for World Education. In Thailand she trained local teachers, wrote curricula and ran a school for gifted refugee students. She also trained refugee staff in sexual harassment awareness. As an undergraduate Brooke worked on a sexual assault crisis helpline and trained phone counselors for this service. In addition to her roles as the Office for Women's Affairs departmental secretary and a member of the Gender Incidents Team, Brandi maintains the Office of Women's Affairs web sites. Prior to her appointment in OWA, Brandi was a Program Records Assistant for the 21st Century Scholars Program. Born and raised in Lawrence County, Brandi now resides in rural Monroe County.
