Public Affairs and Government Relations supports IU's mission by providing professional communications and marketing services that enhance the University’s relationships with its many publics, and supporting IU initiatives at the state, federal, and grass-roots level. Five offices—Community Relations, Creative Services, University Communications, University Marketing, and Government Relations—offer expertise in media relations, marketing, branding, broadcast technology, print and electronic publications, and community and government cooperation and partnerships.

The division manages multiple Web sites including www.indiana.edu; produces e-Newsletters, IU Home Pages, and a wide range of specialty publications; and administers the IU Events Calendar. Combining professional expertise and institutional knowledge, Public Affairs and Government Relations staff members assist administrators and faculty with key university functions from recruiting students to promoting the Life Sciences Initiative.
