Beth Smith is the Director of Branding and Marketing Initiatives for the School of Education. She joined the School of Education in 2010 as the Director of Communications for IUconnectED, which encompasses online graduate-level courses and programs. She gained extensive experience in marketing and relationship management in the hospitality industry. She worked with the Indiana Memorial Union as the Manager of Sales and New Business Development and the Front Office Manager.  Prior to that, she worked for both corporate and private hotels and conference centers. 

She is a Kelley School of Business alumna, having earned a B.S. in Marketing from Bloomington. She earned her MBA through the Evening Program at IUPUI. Both experiences were extremely fulfilling and created tremendous opportunities to stretch intellectually and personally. 

She is currently working on the School of Education’s branding initiative and its vision for the future. The career of teaching does not enjoy the professional status afforded to other career choices. She and her colleagues in partnership with students and alumni intend to change that perception.
