Chris Brown joined Informational and Emerging Technologies in 2011. He worked the previous four years in the IUPUI Office of Communications and Marketing as Director of Digital Media and Web Applications Developer. He has worked in enterprise technologies and web application development in both corporate marketing and agency environments for the last 13 years.

In his current role, Brown consults with campus marketers and application developers on digital marketing strategies and assists in managing new media development, information systems, marketing and communications platforms, and associated technologies. He works in Indianapolis, focusing primarily on IUPUI and the IU School of Medicine. While at the university, he has received a gold medal from the Annual Admissions Advertising Awards for Websites in Higher Education as well as bronze medals from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for Individual Sub-Website and Pride of CASE V for Best Web Site.

Brown also currently serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI, where he teaches web programming courses in the Computers and Information Technology program. He is a co-manager of the IU Web and Multimedia Community Group and is serving in his second term as an IUPUI Staff Council Representative.

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in management, human resources, and international business from the IU Kelley School of Business, and a master's degree in media arts and sciences from the IU School of Informatics.

During his free time, he enjoys action movies, personal fitness, home improvement, video games, and time with his golden Labrador, Ajax.
