John S. Applegate is IU’s Executive Vice President for University Regional Affairs, Planning, and Policy. His varied portfolio includes responsibility for IU’s regional campuses, university academic affairs, and external academic relations—especially with state government. His office administers university policies, strategic planning, executive review and recruitment, and IU’s online education initiative. It also executes IU’s public safety mission through the IU Police Department and the Offices of Emergency Management and Environmental Health and Safety. An expert in environmental and administrative law, EVP Applegate is the Walter W. Foskett Professor of Law at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
