Since May of 2005, Michael M. Sample has served as Indiana University’s vice president for university relations. In July 2007, he was named vice president for public affairs and government relations.
He reports directly to University President Michael A. McRobbie and oversees university-wide programs in marketing, internal and external communications, media relations, and other public outreach activities.
Sample has an extensive background in policy development, corporate communications, public affairs, and international business, primarily in the energy industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from IU and an advanced management certificate from Oxford University’s Templeton College in England.
