Coaching

A PBIS coach is a member of the school team that provides on-site support to teachers and administrators in a non-supervisory capacity. Coaches can either be a member of the building faculty, an internal coach, or a district level resource, an external coach. Coaches have a comprehensive understanding of PBIS principles, theory and practice. They also bring knowledge of school operations, group dynamics, and decision making to the table. Coaches assist in the assessment of school needs, development of functional action plans, and the implementation of PBIS. Coaches serve as monitors and technical assistance providers to all members of the school community.
