2007 inductees

Welcome to the Gamma of Indiana homepage. Gamma of Indiana is the Indiana University Bloomington chapter of The Phi Beta Kappa Society. Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest academic honor society in existence, founded in 1776 at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Throughout its long history the primary objective of Phi Beta Kappa has been the recognition of excellence in the academic performance of undergraduate students in the liberal arts and sciences in American Colleges and Universities. The College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington is honored to be the sheltering organization for a chapter of this prestigious national society.

Twice each year, faculty electors review the academic records of senior degree candidates and recent bachelor’s degree graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington. At the end of the Fall and Spring semesters a banquet is held to honor those students chosen to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Friends and family members join faculty and advisors in celebrating the hard work of the young scholars at a festive event. Please follow the “Events” link to find out about the last banquet and information for the next one.

If you would like to contact Gamma of Indiana, use the “Contact” links to your left. Most questions can be answered by the Administrative Assistant, especially those concerning banquet details.
