Election to Phi Beta Kappa is the highest honor that can be conferred on an undergraduate in the liberal arts and sciences. About one college senior in a hundred nationwide is invited to join this prestigious group. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the United States The College of Arts and Sciences congratulates its students on their election to Gamma of Indiana, Indiana University’s chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, which was founded in 1911.
