Allen Wood’s research interests focus on the history of modern philosophy, especially German philosophy in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and also moral, social and political philosophy and the philosophy of religion. He has taught at Cornell University, Yale University and Stanford University, and has visited at the University of Michigan, the University of California at San Diego, and Oxford University. His writings in the history of philosophy have dealt chiefly with Kant, Fichte, Hegel and Karl Marx. Professor Wood is (co-) general editor of the series Cambridge Edition of the Writings of Immanuel Kant in English translation, and also (co-) editor of the Cambridge History of Philosophy in the Nineteenth Century (forthcoming). His most recent book is Kantian Ethics (Cambridge University Press, 2008).
