Prof. Weinberg works in the philosophy of mind/cognitive science, epistemology, and aesthetics. He is also a practitioner of experimental philosophy, and directs the 'Experimental Epistemology Laboratory', which investigates the psychological bases of the intuitions of philosophers and laypersons. His recent papers have concerned such topics as: the concept of innateness in cognitive science; using psychological accounts of the imagination to solve various philosophical problems about fictions; epistemologists' appeals to intuitions about esoteric cases (co-authored with other members of EEL); and a pragmatist proposal for how one might do epistemology without relying overly much on such intuitions.
