Philanthropy

Phi Mu's national philanthropy is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The Delta Alpha chapter of Phi Mu strives each year to raise thousands of dollars for its Children's Miracle Network hospital, Riley's Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Through its own philanthropy "DePHI the MUsic" and through the Indiana University Dance Marathon, Phi Mu has been able to raise approximately $30,000 in the past year alone.

In recent years, Phi Mu has won multiple awards at IUDM, including the Spirit Award and the Hope Award, showing Phi Mu's passionate commitment to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Phi Mu has also started its own philanthropic event, DePHI the MUsic, where students can sing karaoke and eat unlimited wings for a few hours.

Phi Mu also prides itself on its involvement in Relay For Life, an American Cancer Society event that raises money for cancer research and raises awareness in the Bloomington community. Phi Mu is not only the largest organization to participate, but they are also a top fundraiser.

Phi Mu Delta Alpha's newest philanthropy is Runway Riley: Catwalk for the Kids, an event created in 2012. The paired philanthropy with Phi Mu and IUDM is a fashion show that showcases the IUDM apparel offered for the year. Riley kids are given the opportunity to strut their stuff with IU students and model off the apparel in the show. All proceeds go toward the IU Dance Marathon total, which directly benefits Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis!
