General Information
The Campus Division is responsible for the grounds maintenance, nursery, and outdoor construction at IUB. We have a total of 44 appointed service maintenance staff members.
Services
Grounds Maintenance
- Tree trimming, removal and maintenance.
- Snow removal.
- Parking lot cleanup, striping, patching and bumper block replacement.
- Mowing, weed whipping and edging.
- Seeding and aerifying.
- Trash pickup, limb pickup and leaf removal.
- Watering, weeding, cultivating and fertilizing.
- Pruning, mulching and chipping.
- Spraying herbicides and pesticides.
- Maintain 2,000 acres of green space and hard surface.
Landscaping
- Installation of landscape material for construction projects -- seven campuses.
- Nursery operation: planting and/or replacing trees system-wide, and annual flower and fall mum production.
- Flower planting: spring and fall bulbs, annuals, mums.
Construction
- Hard surface installation and repairs of sidewalks, curbs, retaining walls, brick walkways, and patios.
- Install/remove playground equipment.
- Bicycle parking implementation and maintenance.
- Masonry services: blue stone, benches, signature bricks.
- Stamped pattern concrete
Special Services
- Barricade delivery and pickup for various events.
- Campus-wide signage repair and replacement.
- Vandalism repair.
- Set-up and assist in numerous IU Foundation, Alumni Association, athletics and academic events.
