Black Walnut Scientific Name: Juglans nigra Description: A tall, handsome tree 50-75 and sometimes 150' high, with a trunk diameter of 3-4', and not infrequently 8' in the Ohio Valley; the trunk straight with stout branches nearly horizontal below, and at a sharp angle with the stem above, forming a symmetrical round-headed tree.
