Research Activity Survey
The Research Activity Survey should be completed before commencing research activities in the IU Research and Teaching Preserve (RTP). This form should be completed by all researchers whether projects are short-term or long-term. This includes students conducting short-term independent (< 1 year) research projects under the supervision of an instructor.

Research Progress Report
Please submit the Research Progress Report form at the completion of your research project. Additionally, we ask researchers with ongoing projects to submit the Research Progress Report form annually (based on the commencement date of the project)..
A field laboratory, observation deck at University Lake (Willard Pavilion), and a shelter house are located on the Griffy Woods property. An online reservation form is available.
Research Grant Application
Grants are available for undergraduate or graduate student research in the environmental sciences at the IU RTP properties. Awards of up to $500 will be granted on a competitive basis.
Maintenance/Setup Assistance for IU RTP Research Projects
Researchers may request limited assistance from IU RTP staff in maintaining and setting up research projects at preserve properties. An IU network ID is required to access the maintenance/setup assistance request form.
Nature Preserve Fund
The IU Nature Preserve Fund supports the enhancement of the RTP's research and teaching mission as well as the protection and conservation of rare species found on the preserve (such as the Trailing Arbutus, a rare flowering plant and the living symbol of Indiana University). Gifts in support of the Research and Teaching Preserve may be made through the IU Foundation.
