Lauren Robel is Provost and Executive Vice President of Indiana University. The Office of the Provost provides academic leadership for the campus, and supports faculty and student initiatives that enhance the quality of education at IU Bloomington, a research institution renowned for its global, multidisciplinary programs.
A theoretical nuclear physicist in IU Bloomington's College of Arts and Sciences has been awarded the National Science Foundation's most prestigious award in support of junior faculty. Jinfeng Liao, an assistant professor in the Department of Physics, will receive $440,000 from the CAREER Award to continue exploring new states of matter under extreme conditions.More »
IU English professor Adrian Matejka is a recipient of the 2014 John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship for his third poetry collection "The Big Smoke." Matejka's book was also a finalist for the 2014 Pulitzer Prize in poetry. More »
Five Indiana University Bloomington students have received the Provost's Award for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, recognizing exceptional and original academic work.
