Significance:The United States Coast Guard Cutter Campbell, once called the "fightin'est ship ever seen" by the Polish destroyer Burza was launched on June 3rd, 1936. The USCGC Campbell was named after former secretary George W. Campbell. During it's reign in World War II the Campbell succeeded in attacking four submarines, sinking six convoy vessels and raming and sinking a U-606.
