Alexander Hamilton Treasury Class (327)

Men aboard the Hamilton on December 27, 1941 at the Norfolk Navy Yard. In one month, on January 29, 1942, a German U-Boat would torpedo and sink the Hamilton, eight miles off the coast of Iceland.

Historical Significance:
Named for the first Treasury Secretary of the United States, Alexander Hamilton, this Coast Guard Cutter was lost at sea in 1942.
