Several shells were discovered by Dominican Archaeologists within the
several neighboring plazas at La Aleta.
After recovery the shells were cleaned and identified. It believed that these
shells are
possible remnants of the Taino culture. Additional research is underway
to determine the date of origin and possible cultural use by the
Taino.
