Herman B Wells Library, Indiana University, Bloomington
On April 1st, 2005, the IUB Main Library (pictured at right) was renamed the Herman B Wells Library after the university's visionary chancellor (1962 to 2000). Home to more than 4.1 million volumes, the building overlooks the arboretum at the heart of the Bloomington campus.
WTIU has produced two programs about Herman B Wells; The Vision of Herman B Wells explores Wells' philosophy during his lengthy service to the university as president and chancellor. A Celebration of a Life: Remembering Herman B Wells records the university ceremony honoring Wells after his death in 2000, and includes many distinguished speakers.
