Workstations in Hayes Hall at Indiana University East use plenum-rated (insulation conforming to UL flame resistance standards) optical fiber cable by choice rather than code in computer labs. These stations are located in IU East's library classroom building, which opened in 1993. The entire building contains a designed-for-growth premise wiring system that can accommodate all of the sophisticated voice, data, video, and other communication systems in the campus' long-range plans. Tom Darragh, Director of Indiana University's Office of Telecommunications and Dale Hall, of his department, were two key people in the design of Hayes Hall's premise wiring system.
