"4Dice" is a one-minute, action-oriented animation submitted to the Siggraph 94 Electronic Theater. The animation, from which this image is taken, is based on a mathematical model of a four-dimensional die seen from the point of view of a 4D high-roller, who sees Lady Luck whimsically disappear with his winning number. It was created by a "renaissance team"consisting of the scientific director and creator of the script (Andrew Hanson, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Indiana University Bloomington); an artist (Brian Kaplan) who realized and animated the basic concepts of the director, adding artistic flourish; and a technical scientist (Robert Cross) who contributed specific modeling and mathematical transformation utilities as needed.
