About the Contributors

Mary Cox Barclay is a freelance writer, designer, and calligrapher who lives in Bloomington, Indiana, with her husband, Jonathan, and cats Cooper, Winifred, and Zenobia. Her hobbies include photography, singing, and collecting and creating greeting cards.

Susan Moke is a doctoral candidate in the English department at Indiana University Bloomington. She is editor of the Majority Report, a publication of Indiana University's Office for Women's Affairs, and a writer for the Center for Reading and Language Studies.

Bob Baird, a Bloomington freelance writer/editor and journalism instructor, went the journalism route but invariably seeks the creative approach in his writing and theatrical endeavors. He has appeared in plays and taught nonfiction and feature writing at the John Waldron Arts Center, recently directed a play at the Black Box Theater, and teaches magazine editing at IU's School of Journalism.

Heather Shupp is a writer and editor in the Indiana University Office of Publications. She is the copyeditor for Research & Creative Activity.

Jean Freedman recently received her Ph.D. in folklore from Indiana University. She currently teaches Women and Folklore at IU and is doing research on the culture of London during World War II.
